Red Barn

$3275

Some landscapes feel like coming home. Red Barn is one of them. Sergey Cherep leads the eye along a winding golden dirt road from the lower canvas — flanked by a grand, dark-trunked tree whose yellow-green canopy spills across the upper left in bold, jewel-like impasto dabs — straight to a vivid red barn sitting warmly at the center, its unexpected cyan roof catching the light like a brushstroke of pure joy. Rolling hills of green and harvest gold wrap the scene in every direction, while a luminous teal sky alive with thick, swirling clouds completes a composition that radiates the particular kind of contentment only a summer afternoon in open country can provide. Every surface in this 36" × 36" oil canvas rewards close inspection — the deeply worked foreground grasses, the tactile richness of the barn's weathered red walls, the way the road curves just enough to keep the destination feeling like a discovery. Warm, masterfully composed, and painted with the radiant color and expressive depth that have made Cherep one of the most sought-after Post-Impressionist voices working today. Signed by the artist.
